Photographers seeking a vast space with natural light will delight in the Extension Room's neutral palette and open concept. It is also an ideal site location for film and television, located just minutes from Toronto's major film houses and post-production sites.
How large is the space and how many guests can it hold?
The Extension Room’s sky-lit main studio offers 4000 square feet of open space, and includes a main bar, satellite bar, separate his and her change rooms complete with showers and toilets as well as state of the art Marley performance flooring or event flooring, specific to the needs of each event. The main studio comfortably accommodates 200-250 guests for cocktail events, or 100-150 guests for seated dinners or performance / seminar events. What parking is available for my guests?
The Extension Room offers four private parking spaces weekdays before 6pm, and 12 additional spaces on weekends and evenings after 6pm. There is also additional street parking at a nearby Green P lot for your guests. With our location at the foot of the Bayview Extension and the DVP, your guests are ensured fast and easy travel from any corner of the city or out of town. Convenient TTC access is available on the King Street streetcar line, just one block away.
What is the base rental cost and what is included?
The basic rental fee includes exclusive use of the main studio with catering kitchenette/green room between 2pm – 2am, use of in-house sound system and projector, and up to two hours post event clean up. What other amenities does the space feature?
A commercial grade A/V setup is complimented by acoustic enhancing insulation. Ceiling mounted projector and screen are ideal for corporate slide shows, sponsor logo projections and atmospheric visuals. The north facing wall of the Extension Room’s main studio boast a large loading dock with roll-up door, adding an open air feel during clement weather, and offering convenient load in for event furniture, catering equipment or film equipment. Adjacent to the main studio is a completely separate kitchenette/lounge. This 1500 sq ft space features a full size refrigerator, sink, food-prep area, and a 240-volt power source for commercial warming ovens. A lounge area can comfortably seat 12-16. It is an ideal staging area for caterers, green room for artists, or a quaint room for smaller meetings and gatherings. A separate washroom complete with shower offers your staff separation from guests for their personal needs and comfort.
